Wilfried Nancy insisted he had no concerns about the sack, maintaining, “I believe we are really close to a turnaround,” in the wake of edging perilously close to the chopping block with a comprehensive loss to the Ibrox side.

He highlights the fact his team show good levels for one half at a time. In fact, if not for wastefulness in front of goal they would have been more than 1-0 up. “There were positives other than the fact that we didn't take a second goal,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but it's important to stay objective.

“The standard we had at stages was of top quality. That is a fact. And I would not speak so positively if it was different. Therefore, regarding outcomes, I said we've seen this before. For that reason I believe we are really close to getting it right. Right now: details, details, details.”

“We produced plenty of positives that we did, as was the case today. The issue now it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My message would not be if it was not the case. That’s why I am convinced we’re going to be able to get back on track.”

The Rangers Boss Response

Danny Röhl refused to contemplate a title charge even after what felt like a landmark win. “We take it game by game, so we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The faith in the group is outstanding.”
