Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
