19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to secure a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.
The player's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional title, took control to force a decider.
He rescued four early opportunities in a close third set before the champion broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
