Zelenskyy Asserts Putin Initiated Talks Following Cruise Missile Proposals

An ex- US state department official, a foreign policy expert, observed, "The Russian leader is trying to disrupt the progress toward increased pressure on Russia." He added, "The outcome will become clear on Friday, but the likelihood of moving toward a ceasefire by pressuring Russia to engage sincerely seem to have decreased."

This development came after Trump had recently been strengthening his language toward Moscow until the recent conversation with the Russian president, which the Russian government characterized as "highly open and trustful."

European Fuel Sanctions and Economic Impact

EU authorities have established a requirement for energy importers into the EU to prove their products are not sourced from Russian crude, as stated in a official guideline released on Thursday. This measure is included in the EU's upcoming prohibition on purchases of fuels processed from Russian crude, which is included in its 18th sanctions package against Russia over its war in Ukraine.

Financial experts observed that investment activity appeared to be considering the potential reduction of India's imports of Russian oil. Several Indian refiners are getting ready to cut purchases from Russia, with projections of a phased decrease, according to insiders knowledgeable about the matter.

"This is a positive development for the crude oil price as it would remove a big buyer of Russian oil," said a market analyst, noting that crude values were steady on Thursday.

A massive Moscow's drone and missile attack targeted gas facilities in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, causing disruptions in eight areas. Ukrainian officials reported that Russia deployed numerous of unmanned vehicles and dozens of missiles, along with aerial munitions.

"During this fall, the Russian forces use daily opportunities to attack at our energy infrastructure," declared Volodymyr Zelenskyy, noting that strikes affected the areas of Chernihiv, Kharkiv, central Ukraine, Sumy and western Ukraine.
